Entry requirements:

  • Must be able to obtain a Working with Children check or Blue card
  • Students seeking enrolment into this qualification must have an appropriate level of written and spoken English suitable for employment within the early childhood education and care industry.
  • Physical requirements – to be able to carry children up to the age of 5 years and in some cases weighing in excess of 20kgs.
  • To provide first aid you may also be required to kneel on the ground for at least 15 minutes continuously, and to apply chest compressions for at least five minutes continuously.

Assessment methods:

Assessment methods include observation, demonstration, portfolio, questioning, third party evidence, workplace project, assignment, case studies and work placement.
