Qualification: CPP20218 – Certificate II in Security Operations

 

Our nationally recognised Certificate II in Security Operations provides individuals with the skills and knowledge required to obtain a security/guard licence, and to work in the security industry.  Career opportunities within the Security industry are quite varied and offer wide-ranging opportunities. From working at sporting events through to more traditional security officer roles, a career in security is certainly an exciting and rewarding one

  • Good numeracy skills
  • Must be over 18

Observation/Demonstration, Practical / simulation, Written, Oral Questioning

To attain the CPP20218 – Certificate II in Security Operations, 14 units of competency must be achieved:

 

CPPSEC2101 Apply effective communication skills to maintain security
CPPSEC2102 Apply legal and procedural requirements to work effectively within a security team 
CPPSEC2103 Apply WHS, emergency response and evacuation procedures to maintain security 
CPPSEC2104 Apply risk assessment to select and carry out response to security risk situations 
CPPSEC2105 Provide quality services to a range of security clients 
CPPSEC2106 Protect self and others using basic defensive techniques 
CPPSEC2107 Patrol premises to monitor property and maintain security 
CPPSEC2108 Screen people, personal effects and items to maintain security 
CPPSEC2109 Monitor and control access and exit of persons and vehicles from premises 
CPPSEC2110 Monitor and control individual and crowd behaviour to maintain security 
CPPSEC2111 Apply security procedures to manage intoxicated persons
CPPSEC2112 Apply security procedures to remove persons from premises
CPPSEC2113 Escort and protect persons and valuables
HLTAID003 Provide first aid

Successful students are required to apply to Licensing regulation Division (LRD) for a licence upon completion of the course. They are also required to do a fingerprint and police check before applying for a licence. Throughout your studies our Student Employment Support Services team is available to provide complimentary employment preparation and support. Through our extensive network of employer contacts we will not only ensure that you are aware of employment opportunities that may arise but also offer you support and guidance as part of any applicable job application process

Information sessions are held where employers meet with recent graduates and are provided information and employment opportunities in the security industries. Students are then encouraged to make contact with prospective employers following the receipt of their security licence.

Additional support and resources are also provided to ensure students gain competitive edge in their search for employment, including;
