Course Overview

The Certificate III in Security Operations package is designed for existing licenced security officers who wish to open doors to new employment opportunities towards supervisory/management level. The packaged course includes qualification to screen people and/or items or engage the services of control room operators.

Who should take this course?

The CPP30411 – Certi­ficate III in Security Operations, with a focus on control room operations and aviation screening is ideal for those wishing to apply for roles within this area of the Security industry.

How long will it take?

This qualification is available to be completed over a range of delivery models including weekdays, weeknights and weekends. Delivery ensures that all Victoria Police – Licensing & Regulation Division (LRD) minimum face to face training hours are met for the licensing category of Control Room Operator. In addition to face to face delivery students will be provided with access to resources and learning materials to ensure that they are provided the opportunity to develop all the required skills and knowledge for this qualification.

Throughout your studies our Student Employment Support Services team is available to provide complimentary employment preparation and support. Through our extensive network of employer contacts we will not only ensure that you are aware of employment opportunities that may arise but also offer you support and guidance as part of any applicable job application process

Information sessions are held where employers meet with recent graduates and are provided information and employment opportunities in the security industries. Students are then encouraged to make contact with prospective employers following the receipt of their security licence.

Additional support and resources are also provided to ensure students gain competitive edge in their search for employment, including;

  • Job search strategies and confidence  with cold calling
  • Guidance with career planning
  • Post-graduation prospective employer sessions
  • Work integrated learning/placement
